Role Overview
Selcom is seeking an active, field-oriented Field Fleet Officer to join the Existing Merchant Support team in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting existing merchants, maintaining and troubleshooting payment devices (POS, QR codes), delivering product training, resolving operational issues, and enhancing merchant satisfaction and retention.
Job Key Duties & Responsibilities
Merchant Field Support:
Conduct regular field visits to existing merchants across Dar es Salaam to provide ongoing technical and operational support.
Payment Systems Support:
Troubleshoot, maintain, and resolve issues related to POS terminals, QR code payment setups, and general payment transaction systems.
Merchant Training:
Train new and existing merchants on how to effectively operate Selcom payment solutions and hardware.
Device Maintenance:
Ensure all merchant devices and payment hardware are functioning optimally.
Issue Resolution & Retention:
Address merchant complaints promptly to ensure maximum system uptime, foster positive customer relations, and drive merchant retention.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Certificate or Diploma in a relevant field.
Work Experience:
1 to 2 years of relevant experience in field support, merchant operations, or technical customer service.
Licensing & Driving Skills:
Valid Class A driving licence with proven experience in riding a motorcycle safely across urban terrain.
Technical & Soft Skills:
Good communication skills and solid comfort working with digital devices/technology.
Work Ethic:
Highly self-driven, field-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision while navigating the field.
