Job Overview
We are seeking a Finance Officer to manage and lead all aspects of the country’s finance operations. This role will ensure financial accuracy, statutory compliance, timely reporting, and the implementation of strong financial controls. The Finance Officer will report to the Finance Manager. This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented and disciplined individual who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Petty Cash Management: Manage petty cash float, process approved payments, track balances, and ensure accountability with receipts and supporting documents.
Inventory Oversight: Oversee financial documentation related to inventory movement, stock counts, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Asset Tracking: Support finance-related asset tracking in line with our Asset Management Policy.
Administrative & Supportive Functions
Document Management: Ensure financial records (physical and digital) are complete, organized, and audit-ready.
Interdepartmental Support: Work with Operations, HR, and other departments to ensure financial processes are efficient and aligned with organizational goals.
Learning & Compliance Updates: Stay informed of changes in financial regulations. Proactively recommend improvements to local finance processes.
Other Duties: Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in finance or accounting.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Full integrity, discretion, and trustworthiness in handling financial information.
Work Experience
Experience working with NGOs or social enterprises.
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems.
Previous involvement in multi-location operations or field office support.
