Human Resources Officer at Jhpiego
Jhpiego is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Officer to support HR strategic priorities and provide ongoing HR support to Jhpiego offices for effective delivery of human resource services and functions. This role is crucial for developing and designing strategies to achieve HR objectives, and providing comprehensive HR support.
About the Role
Reporting to the Human Resource Director, the Human Resources Officer will play a key role in various HR functions. These include:
Developing and designing strategies to deliver HR objectives.
Providing human resource support in recruitment, performance management, HR administration, and employee relations.
Ensuring compliance with Tanzanian labour laws.
Implementing initiatives in accordance with Jhpiego policies.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with the HR Director, you will:
Lead recruitment processes, including requisition forms, advertising, screening of applications, interview, selection, and reference checks.
Oversee the planning and implementation of orientation for newly recruited staff.
Monitor the administration of staff benefits.
Ensure maintenance of up-to-date employee records in both electronic and hard copy files, ensuring confidentiality and security.
Monitor performance management processes.
Maintain the administration of HR Policies, addressing staff grievances, and handling disciplinary issues.
Support staff welfare initiatives and all staff events, such as staff retreats and meetings.
Maintain follow-up with staff and managers regarding the submission of various documents required for HR periodical processes (e.g., updated CVs, Bio data forms).
Oversee the maintenance of medical and group life insurances.
Support HR online platforms, including JEMS and iCIMs.
Oversee the engagement of Consultants and specific task agreement personnel, ensuring adherence to laid-down procedures and policies, and that databases and agreements are up-to-date and filed accordingly.
Plan and oversee staff on-boarding, transitioning, and exiting.
Assist the HR Director in providing oversight to the HR office and ensuring its smooth running.
Perform other official duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources Management.
A minimum of 5 to 6 years of post-qualification experience in a Human Resources management position within a reputable NGO or development agency.
Good knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws.
Good computer skills, particularly in the use of different Human Resources Information Systems.
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask.
High integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Passion and desire to work with people at different levels and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff at all levels.
Good level of computer literacy, conversant with all Microsoft products.
