Key Job Purpose
As a Security Officer for GSM, your primary responsibilities are to maintain safety and protect life, property, the mall environment, and the company's name. This includes ensuring the safety of employees, customers, and company visitors, and preventing loss or damage to property caused by crime, fire, flood, or natural disasters.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Safety & Customer Service
Acknowledge customers who visit the store.
Maintain a watchful eye on stock, staff, and customers, particularly those with a propensity for theft.
Act as a human CCTV camera, primarily preventing theft or damage within the store, with the potential to assist customers like a sales associate.
Make official notes on any unusual incidents, including property damage and theft, ensuring accuracy for potential police or court use.
Remain vigilant and actively monitor customer and staff behavior for any signs of suspicious activity.
Conduct regular inspections of the store to identify potential security risks or vulnerabilities in areas such as fitting rooms, back stores, back offices, and accessory areas.
Perform random checks of the security alarm system.
Respond promptly to alarms or incidents and take appropriate action.
Ensure all store staff sign in/out for breaks or upon leaving the store.
Monitor entry and exit points, ensuring staff are checked and searched before leaving and customers have their shopping baskets checked and receipts stamped.
Understand and ensure effective implementation of the return policy.
Ensure all security and safety policies and procedures are being followed.
Qualifications & Experience
Secondary education or higher.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a security role.
Military training (Army or Combat) is an added advantage.
Preferred age range: 25-35 years.
