Senior Accountant – Tax Compliance & Commercial Operations
Dykobrim Enterprises Limited

About Dykobrim Enterprises Limited
Dykobrim Enterprises Limited is a premier commercial beverage distribution company operating in Dar es Salaam. Our corporate portfolio spans large-scale wholesale and retail distribution of mainstream alcoholic beverages, premium spirits, wines, non-alcoholic drinks, and corporate event beverage logistics.
To support our rapid expansion and strengthen our corporate governance, we are seeking a highly analytical, detail-driven, and commercially astute Senior Accountant – Tax Compliance & Commercial Operations to lead our finance function.

Position Summary
This is a high-visibility operational role that bridges corporate finance, tax strategy, and commercial inventory control. The successful candidate will take end-to-end ownership of the company’s tax compliance framework, act as the primary liaison with statutory bodies (TRA, Municipalities, BRELA), and enforce rigorous financial controls across our high-volume distribution network.
We are looking for a sharp financial professional who brings practical experience in the beverage/FMCG distribution sector and possesses deep, hands-on capability in resolving complex tax audit matters and managing TRA portal workflows.

Duties and Responsibilities

Statutory Tax Management & Tax Dispute Resolution:

Lead all tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities in full accordance with the Tax Administration Act and Tanzanian tax legislation.
Manage end-to-end filings for VAT, Corporate Income Tax, PAYE, Skills and Development Levy (SDL), Withholding Tax, Excise Duty, and City Service Levies.
Function as the key technical lead for TRA tax audits, compliance reviews, and verification exercises.
Draft, assemble, and track statutory tax objections, waivers, and appeals via the TRA Taxpayer Portal (IDRAS / OBA).
Execute monthly reconciliations between EFD/VFMS sales data, general ledger revenue, bank settlements, and physical inventory movements to maintain full audit readiness.

Commercial Beverage Inventory & Working Capital Control:

Oversee comprehensive stock accounting for high-volume beverage inventory, including crates, cases, kegs, returnable glass containers (empties), and breakages/shrinkage reconciliation.
Perform routine reconciliations with key manufacturer statement records (TBL, SBL, major spirit/wine importers).
Monitor trade credit facilities, distributor volume rebates, promotional allowances, and customer accounts receivable.
Implement robust internal control mechanisms across warehouse receipts, dispatch logistics, and cash collection points to eliminate revenue leakage.

Financial Reporting & Operational Controls:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Management Accounts, Profit & Loss statements, and Balance Sheet reviews.
Conduct weekly cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization to ensure adequate liquidity for commercial procurement.
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management, procurement approval, and payables management.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized university.

Professional Qualification:

CPA (T) or partial CPA qualifications registered with NBAA will be an added advantage.

Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 to 4 years of active accounting experience in the FMCG, Beverage Distribution, or Wholesale Trading sector.

Technical Competencies:

Advanced command of TRA e-filing portals (IDRAS, VFMS/EFD systems).
High proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally.
Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, data reconciliations).

Core Competencies:

Proven track record of direct interaction with TRA officers, strong negotiation capability, high ethical standards, and ability to work under tight statutory deadlines.
