The Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) is seeking qualified and motivated Tanzanian graduates to fill various internship positions for the 2026/2027 financial year. This program is designed to provide young graduates with practical workplace experience, professional mentorship, and opportunities to enhance their skills and competencies.
Internship Position: Technician II – Electrical (1 Post)
3.1 Duties and Responsibilities
To carry out specified tasks related to electrical simulators, workshops, and laboratory practicals, students’ projects, research, consultancy, offices, classes and services under close supervision.
To assist in the repair and maintenance of electrical simulators, workshops, and laboratory facilities.
To assist senior staff in related areas of electrical operations.
To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
3.2 Qualification and Experience
Holder of a Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Electrical Engineering, or a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
General Conditions and Guidelines
Nationality: All applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years of age at the time of application.
Application Completeness: Applicants must attach a signed application letter indicating the internship position applied for, a recent passport-size photograph, and an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) with reliable contact details (postal address, email, and telephone number(s)).
Academic Documentation: All applicants must attach certified copies of academic certificates, academic transcripts, Form IV/Form VI certificates, and birth certificate.
Result Slips/Transcripts: Result slips, testimonials, and partial transcripts will not be accepted.
Foreign Certificates: Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and evaluated by the relevant authorities (TCU or NECTA, as applicable).
Note: This is an internship placement program aimed at skills enhancement. Permanent employment is not guaranteed upon completion of the internship period.
