ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development, and food security to promote broad-based economic growth and a vibrant civil society.
Overview
The Feed the Future Tanzania Kilimo Tija Project is an integral component of the U.S. Government’s (USG) Global Food Security Strategy (GFSS), designed to advance global food security, resilience, and nutrition. The objective of this horticulture initiative is to systematically enhance economic prospects within horticulture market systems, with a particular focus on the youth demographic. Target beneficiaries include direct recipients of USG assistance, indirect beneficiaries who emulate the directly assisted, and businesses leveraging opportunities fostered by USG investments. Interventions will emphasize inclusivity and expanded opportunities for youth involvement. Stakeholders may involve private sector entities (producers, input suppliers, service providers, processors, traders/resellers, buyers, and financial institutions), public sector actors (GOT national and local governments, including GOT extension workers), and civil society (including TAHA and other producer and buyer associations).
