Assistant Accountant
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual with outstanding computer applications skills. Duties would include, to:
- Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting standards
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Prepare financial management reports
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and report to management
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advise
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs
- Develop, implement, modify and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
- Analyse on a monthly basis chargeable and non- chargeable time for each staff
- Update accounts receivable list and debtors age analysis
- Follow up on firm’s outstanding debts
- Compute all relevant taxes, prepare and file tax returns to ensure compliance with statutory authorities.
