Assistant Accountant

INDUSTRY: FMCG

HR World Ltd, on behalf of our client, we are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Accountant who will support daily finance operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and contribute to strong internal controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management review.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely posting of transactions.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice verification.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, and petty cash reconciliations.
• Assist in tax preparation and compliance including VAT, PAYE, and Withholding taxes.
• Support budget preparation, expense monitoring, and variance analysis.
• Participate in internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation.
• Collaborate with operations and warehouse teams to monitor stock movements and maintain accurate inventory records.

• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure accurate financial statements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the FMCG sector.
• CPA/ACCA Level II and above is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP.
• Excellent Excel skills and strong numerical accuracy.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
