HR World Limited is seeking a Chartered Accountant to manage financial reporting and support management with financial analysis.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper cash flow monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory payments and tax returns (VAT, PAYE, SDL, WHT, corporate tax).
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitor operational expenses and recommend cost control measures to improve profitability.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Maintain accurate asset registers and oversee depreciation and inventory reconciliation where applicable.
- Support management with financial analysis on logistics operations including transport costs, fleet expenses, and operational profitability.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff where necessary.
- Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- Professional qualification in Accounting (Chartered Accountant) is required. CPA qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in accounting/finance roles, preferably within the logistics or transport industry.
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
