Compliance Officer Vacancy at Mkombozi Commercial Bank

Mkombozi Commercial Bank is seeking a dedicated and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance. The Incumbent shall be responsible for developing and implementing a risk-based compliance monitoring program, identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting all material compliance risks within the bank.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the regulatory correspondence tracker and follow up on timely responses and submissions.
• Coordinate timely and accurate submission of regulatory returns and reports.
• Monitor compliance with AML/CFT/CPF requirements, including customer screening and transaction monitoring.
• Coordinate and monitor compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, and applicable regulations, including oversight of data protection obligations and related reporting.
• Coordinate and monitor implementation of the Bank’s ESG framework, regulatory requirements, and related reporting obligations.
• Conduct periodic risk-based compliance reviews across the bank’s operations and branches.
• Track implementation of corrective actions arising from regulatory examinations and compliance reviews.

• Monitor regulatory changes and coordinate their timely implementation.
• Provide compliance guidance and advisory support to departments and branches.
• Identify, document and escalate compliance breaches and follow up on corrective action.
• Maintain the Bank’s policy register and coordinate timely review and updates with respective policy owners.
• Assess regulatory compliance requirements for new products, services and business processes.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Education and Qualifications

• University Degree or Advanced Diploma from a recognized institution.
• Good Communication Skills.
• Good knowledge of corporate governance compliance requirement (policy, procedures, etc.) underlying banking industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in banking or compliance.
