About the Role
BRAC International (BI) is seeking a Head of Resource Mobilization & Partnerships to develop and implement high-quality country strategic plan and AOP, search for new funding opportunities, develop partnerships with other organizations, write concept notes and proposals, and maintain donor liaison to secure funding for new projects and programs. This is to be done in consideration of Gender Equality & Social Inclusion as a crucial aspect of our work.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Management
- Strategic and quality country program development, planning, and management with adherence to the monitoring system
- Collaborate with management to develop high-quality Annual Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) of the department relevant to the local context and the organizational priorities.
- Work closely with the Country Director and the Country Management Team in developing BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania strategic plan
- Guide the planning, quality implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the program activities through support supervision and conforming to the monitoring guidelines.
Financial Viability and Partnerships
- Ensure financial viability, strategic partnerships, and resource mobilization of BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania as well as compliance to the audit guidelines
- Support BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania to develop and implement strategic partnerships and relationships with like-minded organizations and consortiums.
- Lead and oversee proposal writing, concept note writing, grants acquisition, and management to ensure long-term health of the portfolio and achievement of annual targets.
- Gathering information about and searching for new funding opportunities through donor websites and donor engagement meetings and reviewing them to ensure alignment with the program priorities, organizational policies, and country capacity.
People Management
- Collaborate with the human resource department in attracting, directing, and managing quality staff in the Strategy & Resource Mobilization department while focusing on supervising and developing their capabilities appropriate to the strategic, operational as well as future needs of the department.
- Build and lead an agile, robust, inclusive, and effective team, working collaboratively with them to achieve organizational goals.
- Provide support and direction to the Strategy & Resource Mobilization team in setting clear performance targets, ensuring commitment to them and achievement of results, while maintaining an effective feedback mechanism.
- Mentor and coach Strategy & Resource Mobilization staff to attain the required competencies.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the program by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Responsible for ensuring team members are appropriately trained, supported, and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Academic Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration/Developmental Studies/Project Planning/Social Science/related field.

Minimum 7 years’ experience in people management, fundraising, and proposal writing in a renowned organization, preferably in the NGO setting
