Overview

Kairuki Pharmaceuticals Industry Limited (KPIL) is a new Pharmaceutical company which was established and registered by the country’s Business Registration & Licensing Agency (BRELA) back in 2015. The company is located at Zegereni Industrial Area in Kibaha Municipality, Coast region (Pwani). The plant is due to begin its manufacturing operations early 2021, therefore applications are invited from qualified and experienced Tanzanians in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry for the following positions:

Job Summary

The pharmaceutical Head of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the marketing activities of a pharmaceutical organization in the constantly changing industry scenario. He or she executes the sales promotional activities, placing the advertisements, and other marketing strategies. The pharmaceutical marketing manager is responsible for the product introduction and the management of the product life cycle. He or she designs, develops, implements, and analyzes the various marketing strategies and media used to market and promote the new products. The pharmaceutical marketing manager oversees the working of the other sales supporting workforce who are responsible for the actual implementation of the marketing strategies.

Job Description 

  • To lead the development of brand strategy, pricing strategy, product portfolio management, new product launches and integrated brand activation plans with local distributors, including preparing brand guidelines and bundle books for the accounts to use in driving consistency and brand equity across markets.
  • To work closely with the sales representatives on developing and executing marketing plans and with the KPIL marketing team to ensure marketing activities are aligned and utilizing approved marketing material to drive efficiency and consistency, in market.
  • To assist the Plant Manager in developing and implementing the overall marketing strategy and execution.
  • Build the brand and grow share in key international markets
  • Develop annual marketing budget and participate in annual planning process
  • Be the market and category expert, maintain knowledge of regional customers and relationships with appropriate trade associations to promote marketing activities
  • Analyze market and category trends and recommend actions to achieve annual sales and profit objectives
  • Develop annual marketing plans, 4P marketing strategies and integrated brand activation plans with Area Sales representatives/agents and distributors, execute and monitor implementation
  • Lead product launches and portfolio management
  • Manage all communications with Tanzania marketing and internal teams and provide support on all marketing updates to KPIL Management
  • Be the liaison between KPIL and International marketing and ensure the integration of Tanzania marketing material and plans for international markets as appropriate
  • Administer and monitor marketing activities and brand P&L’s ensure achievement of goals
  • Support sales as needed, including: PowerPoint presentations, Market/Competitive information, Market insight and customer presentations
  • Presents status update on overall business to Plant Manager
  • Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objective
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and ensure understanding and alignment to marketing plans
  • Manage packaging updates for domestic and international markets, including appropriate approvals and timely implementation

Education & Qualification the Head of Sales and Marketing

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceuticals/medical related field.
  • Master’s qualifications in marketing management provide an edge over other candidates.
  • Individuals who have worked in the pharmaceutical industries have an added advantage
  • 5+ years of marketing or brand management experience in the industry
  • Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset is mandatory
  • Retail marketing a plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills  Computer literate, preferably in a Windows environment  Analytical, interpersonal, and strategizing abilities.
