Health and Safety Officer

HR World Ltd, on behalf of our client, we are seeking a proactive and safety-driven Health and Safety Officer who will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to ensure a safe working environment across logistics operations, warehouses, and transportation activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in line with legal and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits across warehouses, fleets, and operational sites.
  • Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures to minimize risks and accidents.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to employees, drivers, and contractors.
  • Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear at all operational sites.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records, incident logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness plans, including fire safety, evacuation drills, and first aid arrangements.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, inspectors, and external safety consultants when required.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
  • Advise management on safety performance, risks, and compliance status through regular reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in health and safety within the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.
  • Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
