  • JOB PURPOSE

    This position will be responsible for the managing of all the major inter group functions related to planning and execution of the group’s strategy, budgets and deliverables. The function will further deliver the major project office services to the group and will also oversee the implementation of international roaming and business continuity management. (Group = IT& Billing)

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    1. Project Management

    • Appoint project management team and manage all projects within the group

    • Ensure all external interfaces to other groups and suppliers are formally managed for all projects.

    • Report on all projects on a weekly and monthly basis

    • Ensure all project deliverables are met as per the scope and timelines.

    2. Product Development

    • Setup a framework to ensure all new products are effectively integrated into the organization

    • Track and manage all product rules through product catalogue document.

    • Advise and participate in review marketing products specifications (MPS)

    • Assist all other departments with the implementation of new products

    • Ensure all dependencies between projects are incorporated and addressed.

    3. VAS & Call center systems support

    • Responsible for USSD 2, WAP GW, PABX for Call center and corporate office, Online App as well as Bulk Messaging gateway systems.

    • Ensure Compliance to Vodacom/Vodafone security standards for new and existing systems.

    • Ensure compliance to Business continuity management guidelines.

    • Oversee product development around these systems ensuring delivery within scope and time.

    • Serves as a gateway for Call center on technical issues which falls under IT & Billing portfolio.

    4. Financial Management

    • Budget Preparation and submission to Finance.

    • Expenditure Control

    5. Human Resource Management

    • Ensure that the division is equipped with adequate resources needed to fulfill its objectives.

    • Skill development.

    • Performance Management in line with guidelines from HR.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCES & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree IT or Engineering degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in similar environment

  • Experience specific to GSM & Mobile money products and services, how they are implemented and how they affect other network elements.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in dealing with the GSM core network elements, GSM products and GSM billing systems.

  • New Product Development and Integration knowledge and experience

  • Implementation and roll-out of products and services and systems/solutions/applications

  • Good understanding and experience with the Expert project management methodology

  • Computer Literacy – sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office environment, specifically Excel, and a good understanding of SQL and system database architectures related to Management Information Systems

  • Strong leadership skills & Excellent interpersonal skills;

  • High-level negotiation skills;

  • Strong managerial and budgetary skills;

  • Extensive computer user knowledge and skills essential; in Word, Power point and Excell
