MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE

MARKETING, BRAND & COMMUNICATIONS

LOCATION: Dar es Salaam

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, On-site

REPORTING TO: Head of Marketing, Brand & Communications

JOB PURPOSE

To provide brand management support and assist with the implementation of marketing, public relations, advertising and promotional strategy for the organization. The role covers two major activities: branding & marketing as well as communications, ensuring consistent brand message and effective internal and external communications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing campaigns align with overall business objectives.
• Coordinate media relations activities including writing press releases, media alerts, maintaining a digital news archive and participating in strategic communication efforts.
• Coordinate events (virtual and in-person).
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's brand guidelines.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's product-specific messaging and brand procedures.
• Work hand in hand with marketing agencies to develop and implement campaigns and curate content on social media channels.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies to ensure marketing campaigns remain relevant and effective.

COMMUNICATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing and implementing effective corporate communication strategies.
• Managing internal and external communications.
• ajiraDrafting content for mass media or company website.
• Managing the company's social media channels.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Digital Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in marketing, brand management, digital marketing, communications, or a related role.
• Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating integrated marketing strategies and campaigns.
• Proven experience in market research, customer insights, competitor analysis and marketing performance measurement.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, social media, content marketing, SEO, paid media and marketing funnels.
• Demonstrated ability to use marketing data, analytics and consumer insights to inform strategic decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
• Strong project management, organizational and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, creativity and commercial awareness.
