OUTSIDE SERVICES SECTION LEADER

Acacia Mining seeks to employ an experienced Outside Services Section Leader based at North Mara Mine. This role reports to the Asset Reliability Manager and the role holder will be accountable to manage the department and ensure infrastructure and assets essential to the operations are effectively maintained. This includes capital projects on the mine and within the community.

This is a fixed term contract role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure safe work practices and adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies.

• Set up and implement the required SOP’s.

• Effectively manage maintenance and continuous improvement of the Outside Services Section.

• Hold your team members accountable and ensure all objectives are achieved.

• Manage, control and initiate costs savings on the budget.

• Set standards and ensure that spares and resources are available for effective maintenance.

• Ensure that team members are trained and competent for their duties.

• Ensure Outside Services groups perform to pre-determined performance measures in safety, availability, reliability, and costs.

• A reliable supply of critical services (potable water, process water, compressed air, power etc.).

• Ensure emergency power generation for all critical areas.

• Ensure Contractors work according to Acacia Standards and Policies.

• Performance manage, appraise, coach and set up development plans for your team members.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualification Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical/ Mechanical (Trade/ Diploma/ Degree)

Experience Requirements:

• Ten years’ experience in a Maintenance role in the mining industry or similar.

• Three years in a Supervisory or Leadership role.

• Experience with the selection, maintenance, and operation of electrical and mechanical equipment.

• Experience in managing infrastructure projects.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

• Ability to lead and effectively manage a multidisciplinary/ multi-function department 

• Ability to plan and manage work at Level 2 (time frame 3 months to 1 year)

• Ability to create a positive working environment and manage the culture within the department

• Ability to manage and resolve conflict

• Ability to interface and collaborate with various departments
