Program Assistant

About BRAC

BRAC is a highly-regarded international non-governmental development organization dedicated to creating a world free from exploitation and discrimination, where everyone can reach their full potential. It is a leader in developing and implementing cost-effective, evidence-based programs that assist poor and disadvantaged communities in low-income countries, including those affected by conflict and disaster. BRAC is an organization of and for the people of the Global South, pioneering new development and social enterprise approaches to empower communities toward prosperity.

About the Programme

In partnership with The MasterCard Foundation, BRAC International is implementing an initiative to create a positive and measurable impact for 1.2 million adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) and 9.5 million people across seven East and West African countries: Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Uganda. This partnership aims to support AGYW living in poverty, an issue amplified by the global pandemic. The program will deliver scalable economic development approaches to communities, fostering the agency and voice of AGYW, and giving them the opportunity to fulfill their aspirations, achieve sustainable livelihoods, and engage in advocacy. BRAC International is using an integrated and holistic model to address the various life cycles of a young woman living in poverty, ensuring she can safely transition from adolescence to adulthood. She’ll be equipped with the appropriate skills, tools, and access to finance to effectively exercise her agency and build a fulfilling and productive livelihood.
