HR World Limited on behalf of our client, we are looking for a Senior Manager – Transportation & Fleet Operations who will be responsible for leading the transportation department, managing fleet assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence to support business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of dispatchers, driver supervisors, maintenance coordinators, and administrative staff to ensure smooth departmental operations.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance and repair programs to keep all vehicles in optimal condition and compliant with SUMATRA regulations.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor transportation tasks to ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery of goods to customer-specified locations.
- Optimize routes and dispatch schedules to maximize utilization, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Act as the company’s primary safety officer, ensuring strict compliance with HSSE standards, transport regulations, and labor laws.
- Manage budgets, monitor fuel consumption, and analyze fleet lifecycle costs to optimize return on assets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, while resolving operational issues and customer complaints. ajira
- Lead accident investigations, implement corrective actions, and organize regular driver safety training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certification e.g., CILT is an advantage).
- 5–8 years of professional experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
- Proven team management experience with strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in fleet management software (TMS) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, cost control, and operational reporting.
