Opportunity for Employment: Senior Operator at Maurel & Prom

Maurel & Prom, a prominent oil and gas exploration and production company listed on Euronext Paris, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual to join their Tanzania operations. Specializing in hydrocarbon production, Maurel & Prom manages corporate, environmental, and social risks. Their Mnazi Bay & Msimbati gas fields have been in continuous production since 2006, playing a vital role in Tanzania's power supply.

Maurel & Prom Exploration Production (T) Ltd. is looking to fill the crucial role of Senior Operator, reporting directly to the Operations Leader. This position is central to monitoring, controlling, and regulating gas flow within the company's operations.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in the upstream oil & gas industry, preferably within a gas processing plant environment.
• Tertiary education in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or a similar field).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Execution-oriented mindset with a proven ability to deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work in a remote setting, including rotating shifts and responding to emergencies outside regular working hours.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
• Possession of a valid Driving Licence is considered an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Gas Processing Facility (GPF), including equipment monitoring, regular inspections, and prompt troubleshooting.
• Manage gas well operations to ensure optimal production levels and strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards to maintain a secure working environment for all personnel.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of basic vessels used in gas processing and ensure their proper functioning.
• Possess a fundamental understanding of industrial control systems, such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) or DCS (Distributed Control System), for effective plant operation monitoring and control.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and execute routine equipment maintenance.
• Provide training and guidance to junior operators, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by line management.
