Nature and Scope
The Senior Public Relations Officer Grade I will work closely with the Manager of Public Relations, Marketing, and Corporate Affairs. The role involves organizing and representing the bank at news conferences, exhibitions, trade fairs, and other events, acting as the bank’s spokesperson.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate well-written documents for publishing and communicate information for promotional and marketing events.
- Design, write, and produce presentations, press releases, articles, leaflets, in-house communications, newsletters, reports, publicity brochures, photographs, and promotional videos.
- Organize and arrange news conferences, exhibitions, and trade fairs, representing the bank as its spokesperson.
- Provide clients with information about new promotional opportunities and current PR campaigns.
- Liaise with and respond to inquiries from media, individuals, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor local media, analyze, and review news and business events to provide management with relevant information, including significant developments and emerging issues impacting TIB’s image.
- Maintain close and active contact with community leaders to understand community needs and determine how the bank can provide support.
Educational Qualifications
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Business Communication, International Relations, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or any other related equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Possession of a master’s degree in related or similar fields is an added advantage.
Working Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- At least four (4) years of demonstrable working experience in an Executive Assistant role.
- Excellent written and communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the financial services sector and banking trends.
- Experience in identifying and managing partner relationships.
- Willingness to engage in frequent traveling and meeting customer needs.
- Management and leadership skills with a team-oriented approach.
