Structural Engineer – Petrol Station Project

LOCATION: Morogoro, Tanzania
HR World Ltd on behalf of our client, we are looking for a Structural Engineer who will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and supervising the structural elements of a petrol station project, including a two-storey building, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with engineering standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop structural plans for the petrol station and two-storey building in accordance with relevant codes and regulations
- Conduct structural analysis to ensure safety, stability, and durability of the construction
- Review and approve technical drawings and blueprints prepared by CAD technicians and architects
- Inspect construction materials and workmanship to ensure quality compliance
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate design requirements
- Supervise structural aspects of the construction process and provide on-site engineering support
- Prepare detailed reports, calculations, and technical documentation for project records
- Identify and resolve any structural issues during construction to avoid delays and safety risks
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental guidelines throughout the project
- Manage timelines and budgets related to structural works
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project managers to ensure smooth execution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
- Registered Professional Engineer (ERB) certification (mandatory)
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in structural design and supervision, preferably in petrol station or commercial building projects
- Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ETABS)
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and coordination skills
