Erolink Limited on behalf of its client is seeking to recruit One (1) Territory Sales Manager, to implement and meet its client new business plan targets by generating customer sales. The role is responsible for sales pricing, planning, operational forecasting, partner management and manage the sales teams in market and provide day to day leadership.

Main Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Management

  • Ensure robust channel execution to drive growth in customer acquisition across channels through driving a regional coverage.
  • Develop critical customer data profile for the region built from customer visit.
  • Develop Customer Value Management database for the region to help in customer segmentation and offering.
  • Establish effective sales clusters for the region with detailed forecast numbers to hit targets.
  • Establishing sales plans to cover the clusters
  • Project expected sales volumes and profit for existing and new products in the region.
  • Ensure product supply chain process is conducted optimally in their region.
  • Manage the Channel agencies effectively in the region through: -
    • Ensuring maximum numbers of DSFs / DCs are on ground.
    • Stipulate Cluster formulation for the region
    • Agree on Cluster based targets for the region
    • Monitor stock movement.
    • Ensure Proper System generated reports are received
    • Ensure challenges and improvement areas in the region are addressed by the agency
  • Lead product sales in the region across channels and interface with other sales related units.
  • Promote cross functional synergies in the region to drive product sell-in and sales. Monitor and report on competitor activities, carry out market research and customer surveys and provide relevant information to the management to facilitate making of well-informed decisions for a sustained profitable business growth in the region. This will be guided by the marketing mix comprising of Price, Products, and Placement and Promotional activities.

Channel Management

  • Implement/monitor Channel Growth roadmap and cascade to agencies in the region.
  • Implement the defined roadmap to drive the Channel performance.
  • Ensure daily, weekly and monthly channel targets are achieved.
  • Develop a strong collaborative working relationship with the Channel partners.
  • Harness new distribution opportunities with alternate channels in the region.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with channel partners to gauge progress based on DOSA / KAOSA to promote accountability and issue resolution.
  • Ensure Customer Data Privacy and Protection

Distribution

  • Plan, co-ordinate and carry out direct sales and marketing support activities from the dealer level, Modern Trade- Key Retail Accounts, Tier -2 Retail Outlets –that will include Priority Supermarkets, & Electronics shop to achieve agreed sales volume, budgets, volume and value share, product listings, numeric and weighted distribution targets.
  • Monitor and report performance versus set commercial objectives on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis through the automated system.
  • Ensure effective and efficient management of company assets in the region.
  • Conduct and document regular household distribution audits in the region to scope the addressable potential.

Channel Expansion

  • Champion New Channel Development in the region following the town/Cluster design model.
  • Create requisite relationships to drive growth of new channel.
  • Ensure all the necessary logistics are utilised optimally for efficient running of the channel in respect to:
    • Vehicles to facilitate transportation of stocks and teams
    • Installers through the installer ecosystem is developed and efficiently functioning
    • Stock movement and reconciliation
    • Stock storage points and distribution
  • Liaise with the branding team to ensure proper visibility across the region.
  • Ensure the Channel teams are well-kitted and reflect the brand image for DStv

Budget Management

  • Drive EIE when conducting BTL activities to realize value for money.
  • Maintain proper management and control of expenditures of resources necessary in the region to achieve the target margin.

Reporting

  • Drive analytics based on the Channel automated system.
  • Improve sales effectiveness and productivity based on customer reports.
  • Interpret key sales drivers, trends, and issues in the region to drive sales.
  • Optimize channel efficiency based on the region’s cluster information.
  • Ensure the highest level of Data Privacy for the customer base.

People Management

  • Manage direct reports in line with the company’s performance management policy and procedures.
  • Provide leadership in the aspect of Performance direction, goal clarification, communication, engagement, ethics, commitment & energy.
  • Talent management, capacity, competence & skills – development.
  • Responsible for team strength & performance level (attraction, selection, retention & development)
  • Ensure subordinate managers have clear, current, and measurable goals; hold direct reports accountable for their own results and obstacles and deal with underperformance.
  • Ensure alignment with Team strength, performance, and energy-matched strategic requirements – under performers identified, improved, or removed.

Qualifications

  • Education: University Degree in a Business field. Postgraduate qualification in Business is preferred.
  • Key Skills: Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suites

Experience

  • 3 - 5 Years’ experience preferably in the Telco / Electronics industry.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in channel partner management
  • Deep sales & distribution knowledge
