Reporting Line: Head – Treasury

Job Purpose

To manage the Bank’s money market, fixed income and liquidity activities by ensuring adequate funding, regulatory compliance, effective cashflow management and income generation from approved Treasury instruments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements on statutory reserves and liquidity.
• Manage intraday cashflows and short-term funding for local currency clearing accounts and locally held foreign currency accounts.
• Maintain adequate balances in nostro and clearing accounts, avoid overdrafts, and invest surplus funds at optimal rates.
• Generate income through approved money market and fixed income instruments.
• Plan future cash movements and prepare funding requirement forecasts.
• Review money market borrowing and lending transactions to ensure compliance with liquidity regulations.
• Prepare regular and ad-hoc liquidity, ALM, ALCO and mark-to-market reports.

• Monitor and manage the Bank’s investment portfolio, including government securities and interbank placements.
• Maintain the Bank’s active market presence to support funding and investment activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Banking and Finance, or a related field.
• ACI Dealing Certificate is required.
• Computer literacy is essential.
• Good understanding of local and international financial markets.

Work Experience

• 1–3 years’ experience in Treasury, FX trading, money markets or financial markets.

Personal Attributes

• Understanding of financial markets.
• Thorough understanding of the local and international financial services industry.
