MTI Investment, a forward-thinking investment and venture-building firm listed on Nasdaq First North in Sweden, is seeking a talented Accountant and Financial Analyst to join our team in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. MTI Investment invests in Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The company has its team based in both Stockholm, Sweden and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Our focus is on investing in companies that show growth potential and are capable of generating positive cash flow while creating sustainable impact. At present, we have an investment portfolio of 10 promising companies that operate in industries rangingfrom agricultural technology to construction. Key responsibilities:
Manage all accounting transactions
Prepare budget forecasts and financial statements
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Ensure timely bank payments and tax compliance
Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
Analyze balance sheets and profit/loss statements
Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
Comply with financial policies and regulations
Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for portfolio companies
Advice colleagues and management on decisions related to the company’s finances
Reporting to the organization and senior management regarding audit results, andobservations
Identifying business process risks and developing risk management strategies.
Analyze investment opportunities for MTI.
Qualifications/Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum three years experience from accounting and/or auditing
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel
A self-starting, proactive person who shows initiative, ownership, and leadership.
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures,
Skilled in planning, productivity, and workload management
Strong verbal communication and writing skills in English
Excellent computer skills
Hands-on experience with accounting software such as e.g. QuickBooks or Sage.Preferred Skills:
Previous work experience from one of the big 4 accounting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EYor KPMG)
CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification
Knowledge of IFRS
