Agronomy Production Manager
Mkwawa Leaf Tobacco Limited (MLTL) invites applications from suitably and qualified candidates to fill the position of Agronomy Production Manager - 1 Position. The main role of the position is to ensure agronomy production targets regarding volume, quality, and by applying best management practices, are met to achieve objectives and strategies according to the agreed operational plan.
Roles and Responsibilities

Develops realistic production plans & targets in line with the Departmental operational plan
Pre-season planning of production and budgets with close associations with the General Operations Managers ensuring operational targets are met
Ensures Regional Coordinators receive required inputs (Forestry only) in a timely manner in line with the production season
Manages project costs in line with the approved budget
Develops a team approach with good working relationships with all subordinates and ensures a disciplined approach to work
Ensures the standard reporting systems are adhered to in all areas
Ensures that all Regions within the set province comply with the standard Mkwawa Agronomy procedures.
Makes sure that every Region performs to company expectation which will include targets of yield/Ha, QI, Forestry, ALP, and GAP targets.
Ensures targets & goals by all Regions within the set province are achieved
Ensures an early warning system is in place to notify the Head of Production/Operations, Agronomy Director of shortfalls in production levels as soon as the Regional Coordinator is aware of the problem
Participates in achieving the necessary plans to ensure that the department meets its agreed goals and objectives, meets Head of Production and Operations on a regular basis, identifies and agrees key result areas, key objectives/tasks, and action plans.
Monitors overtime and where possible works to reduce workloads.
Performs any specific SHE tasks or responsibilities as per appointment by SHE coordinator or managing director.

Qualifications and Experience

BSc Degree in Agriculture or its equivalent
Minimum of 7 years of experience in auditing system-driven processes and sustainability initiatives within the agricultural, sustainability, or tobacco industries
Excellent Microsoft Office, communication, and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and training.
Dedication to ESG and responsible agricultural practices.

Reporting: The job incumbent will be based in Tabora and will directly report to the HEAD OF AGRONOMY OPERATIONS.
Remunerations: Salary offered to this position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience
