BRAC Tanzania Finance LTD is seeking applications from competent, dynamic, and self-motivated individuals to fill up the following position.
Position: Banking Application Officer
The Banking Applications Officer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of the financial institution's Banking Applications. The officer ensures that IT systems are secure, efficient, and support the institution's operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic goals. The IT Officer also supports end-users and contributes to the development and implementation of IT policies and projects.
Job Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure and Systems Administration
Install, configure, and maintain servers, computers, network devices, and core applications.
Manage core banking systems, financial software, and databases.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
Administer backups and disaster recovery solutions.
User Support and Help Desk Management
Provide technical support to staff on hardware, software, and network issues.
Log, track, and resolve IT support requests in a timely and professional manner.
Train staff on IT systems, cybersecurity awareness, and new applications.
Software and Application Management
Liaise with software vendors for updates, support, and integrations.
Conduct testing and deployment of new applications and system features.
IT Policy and Compliance
Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
Ensure IT systems comply with internal controls and audit requirements.
Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
Project Management and Innovation
Participate in IT-related projects including digital transformation, automation, and upgrades.
Evaluate emerging technologies for their applicability in the financial institution.
Coordinate with internal departments to understand and meet their technology needs.
Safeguarding
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), MSSQL or ITIL are an advantage.
Fresh graduates with relevant academic background or internship exposure will also be considered.
Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, databases (e.g., SQL), and network administration is an added advantage.
Key Competencies:
Strong knowledge of core banking systems and financial applications.
Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.
High integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential information.
