Selcom Microfinance Bank Tanzania is currently looking for a confident and self-motivated individual to fill a position of Chief Accountant. Responsibilities
Track Bank’s budgetary controls report and communicate it to Heads of Departments on monthly basis.
Proactively take the lead in the financial analysis for interrogations (like revenue leakage projects)
Review all cost process and suggest best cost control practice to ensure cost to income ratio is well maintained
Overseeing the entire tendering process from issuance of tender documents up to evaluation of bidders
Timely plan and remit monthly, quarterly and annually of all statutory contributions and taxes
Plan and proactively participate in annual physical verification of bank’s assets, year-end cash count, and stationery stock count.
Overseeing annual audits including internal, external and tax audits and tracking findings and observations thereon
Prepare reports on the financial situation and development of the Bank, on tax related issues, payment offices and fixed assets, including monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounts, finance or related field
Registered with NBAA for CPA or ACCA certification
Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience at similar position
Strong knowledge and application of International Financial Reporting Standards and Bank of Tanzania Regulations
Excellent understanding and application of Tanzanian tax laws
Excellent financial analysis knowledge
Fluent in English and Kiswahili
