Children with Cerebral Palsy Trainers (2 Positions) - YWCA Tanzania, Dar es Salaam Branch

The Children with Cerebral Palsy Trainer is responsible for designing and implementing individualized therapy and training programs to improve mobility, coordination, and daily functioning of children with cerebral palsy. The trainer will work closely with children, families, and healthcare teams to promote physical development, independence, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess the needs and capabilities of children with cerebral palsy.
Develop tailored therapy and training plans in line with individual goals.
Conduct physical exercises, mobility training, and motor skill development.
Educate and support parents or guardians and caretakers on exercises and care routines.
Monitor progress and adjust programs accordingly.
Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress, and challenges.
Promote a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, therapists, and educators.
Conduct awareness sessions on cerebral palsy and inclusive practices.


Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children with cerebral palsy or other developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and assistive devices for cerebral palsy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop individualized training plans.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively with families and team members.
Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
Commitment to child-centered and inclusive practices.
