Global Leaf Tanzania Limited (GLT) is a registered company specializing in the buying and selling of tobacco, both domestically and internationally. Established in September 2023, GLT operates across four regions in Tanzania: Shinyanga, Mara, Mbeya, and Tabora. As a burgeoning company in the industry, we are seeking motivated individuals to join us and grow together.
Job Summary
The Data Clerk will be instrumental in collecting, recording, verifying, and maintaining accurate market data throughout the tobacco buying season. This role is crucial for ensuring that all farmer deliveries, grading results, payments, and related records are captured precisely within our company systems and registers.
Key Responsibilities
Capture and accurately record farmer delivery data into the designated system or registers.
Verify the accuracy of data received from graders, weighbridge operators, and market officials.
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all tobacco deliveries and transactions.
Assist in the preparation of daily market reports and summaries.
Ensure all documents are properly filed and stored for efficient reference and auditing purposes.
Promptly report any data discrepancies or errors to the Market Supervisor.
Provide administrative and documentation support to the market team.
Uphold the confidentiality and security of company and farmer data.
Assist in data reconciliation activities at the close of each market day.
Qualifications and Requirements
Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology, Business Administration, Records Management, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in data entry, clerical work, or administrative support. Experience in agricultural markets is considered an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic computer applications.
Good typing speed and accuracy in data entry.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with numerical data.
Capacity to work effectively under pressure, especially during peak market periods.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A high level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
Note: All positions are located in Shinyanga, Mbeya, and Tabora.
