Shirika la Reli Tanzania (TRC) is seeking to fill 2 positions for the role of Engineer II (Electro-Mechanical).

Duties and Responsibilities:
To execute and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for electric and diesel locomotives.
To support predictive maintenance activities using diagnostic tools and fault history.
Diagnose and repair faults in electromechanical systems, including:
Electric traction systems
Diesel locomotive systems
Auxiliary systems (pumps, compressors, fans, HVAC components, battery/charger systems, lighting, etc.)
To Inspect all electrical machineries at the quarries and insulation level of conductors in rolling stock, machinery and buildings.
Conduct functional checks, insulation testing, continuity/continuity checks, ground fault checks (as applicable), and performance verification.
Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians on troubleshooting, safe work practices, and best maintenance methods.
Propose reliability improvements (spares optimization, procedure updates, design/process improvements).
Assist in onboarding/skills development for electromechanical maintenance staff.
Use appropriate diagnostic equipment (e.g., locomotive test tools, multimeters, insulation testers, fault code readers, scope where available).
To perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Holder of Bachelor’s degree in Electro-mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
The candidates must be registered by the Engineers Registration Board as a Graduate Engineer.
