Alliance One International is a leading independent leaf tobacco merchant serving the world’s largest cigarette manufacturers. The company purchases, processes, packs, stores, and ships leaf tobacco.
Alliance One is looking to recruit an experienced Factory Operations Manager.
The successful applicant will report to the Factory’ Director
Key responsibilities
Manage the Production Department with overall responsibility’ for optimizing factory’ operation efficiencies and product performance.
Maintain effective communication with service departments and with third party’ processors and international customers on all processing related issues.
Manage the Production Department budget.
Setup the Production Line to achieve Customer Specifications.
Minimise incidents of None Conforming Product.
Monitor effective utilization of resources through work instruction programs.
Collaborate with Engineering and develop predictive maintenance programs to minimize Down-Tune.
Contribution as a Top Team member, to the development of the company strategies and achievement of key company objectives
Manage Production EHS programs.
The Person
The successful candidate must have excellent managerial skills and the ability to relate to a diverse group of people.
Qualifications & Experience
Although not essential, a diploma or degree in an Engineering would be advantageous.
At least 8-years’ experience in a similar post, of which, 5 years, should be at a senior level in a busy industrial, processing environment.
A sound working knowledge of Tobacco Processing techniques – threshing and redrying.
Sound comprehension of financial controls and budgeting is essential.
Competent computer literacy – MS Excel, Word and Outlook
