Farm Operations Manager (Peanut Project) Job Opportunity at Pacon Enterprises Group

Reporting to: Managing Director
Company: Pacon Enterprises Group
Project Location: Kiseri Ward – Villages of Bwanja, Sunsi and Nambubi, Bungoma County, Western Region.

About the Project
The project involves large-scale commercial production of peanuts along with other crops as per the company’s plan. Pacon Enterprises Group is a major player in agricultural investment, owning and managing over 20 acres of farmland dedicated to various farming projects, especially peanuts for commercial purposes.

Project Overview
Pacon Enterprises Group is an enterprise involved heavily in agriculture investments. The company owns and manages more than twenty acres of farms focusing on diverse agricultural ventures, particularly commercial peanut production.

Primary Responsibilities (Focusing on Peanut Project)


Complete Management of Peanut Production Cycle

Manage field preparation (plowing, leveling land, irrigation systems setup).
Oversee the selection of high-quality peanut seeds and planting schedules.
Control fertilization, sowing processes, irrigation management and water system maintenance.
Handle weeding, pest control, and disease management effectively.
Monitor crop growth until harvest, storage, and market quality standards.
Ensure achievement or exceedance of yield targets per acre.



Management of Staff Discipline and Resources

Supervise all project workers to ensure discipline, efficiency, and accountability.
Schedule tasks effectively and monitor timely execution.
Take necessary actions against errant staff or those violating work protocols.
Maintain a working environment aligned with company goals and project efficacy.



Consistent Presence and Accountability

The manager is required to be present on-site throughout the project duration (Full-Time Business).
Unauthorized absences will be considered a breach of employment contract.
Direct accountability for production successes or challenges within their management area.



Meticulous Management of Company Assets

Carefully manage company assets, including:

Vehicles
Irrigation pumps
Power tillers
Communication devices (Tablets, Computers, etc.)

Conduct regular equipment inspections.
Misuse or deliberate damage to company assets is not tolerated.



Daily Reporting

Submit twice-daily progress reports on the peanut project to the Managing Director.
Report crop growth, challenges faced, resource usage, and actions taken.
Send updates electronically via Tablet or Computer.



Professional Advice

Suggest effective strategies to boost yields and reduce production costs.
Advise on the best peanut varieties suitable for Kiseri’s environment.
Take proactive measures against climate change impacts.




Applicant Requirements

Direct experience in peanut farming (mandatory).
Thorough understanding of irrigation systems for peanut fields.
In-depth knowledge of Kiseri Ward’s geography and ecology.
A degree or certification in Agriculture Science preferred.
Proficiency in using Tablets/Computers to send reports.
Highest level of integrity in managing financial resources.
Discipline, accountability, and ability to work under supervision.
