We serve all people with dignity and respect regardless of faith or background.Guided by our core values of Faith, Empowerment, and Recovery, the Finance & Admin Officer plays a key role in supporting both financial and administrative functions of FHI Tanzania. This includes managing day-to-day financial transactions, grant and budget monitoring, and ensuring compliance with local tax laws, donor requirements, and internal financial controls. The role also provides essential administrative support including procurement processing, office logistics coordination, and HR documentation support. The officer will work closely with the Designated Supervisor and program teams to ensure effective stewardship of resources, strong accountability, and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate bookkeeping and proper filing of financial records and supporting documentsPrepare and process payroll, statutory deductions, and oversee petty cash managementPerform bank reconciliations, manage petty cash, and monitor cash flowSupport preparation of budgets, financial reports, and internal financial summariesSupport statutory compliance tasks (as applicable), including documentation for relevant filingsManage procurement administration: quotation comparisons, purchase documentation, vendor records, and asset register supportSupport office administration, logistics coordination, and general operational tasks as assignedEnsure adherence to Tanzanian tax regulations and FHI financial policiesLiaise with banks, auditors, and donors on financial mattersTrain staff on financial procedures and promote accountability and transparencyMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (professional certification is an advantage)Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance/admin roles (INGO/development sector experience is an advantage)Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (budget tracking and reporting)Experience with QuickBooks is a strong advantageFamiliarity with Tanzanian statutory complianceCPA or ACCA qualification is an advantageStrong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentialityWorking proficiency in English and SwahiliSafeguardingFHI Tanzania is committed to safeguarding and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH).
