Requirements

Professional Accountant – CPA, ACCA or equivalent
First Degree in Accounting, Business and/or Finance
Registered by a recognized institution as professional in field of specialization
Registered Member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA)



Experience

At least 10 years working experience with sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and International Auditing Standards.
Experience in assessing and designing financial management systems and procedures, internal controls, financial reporting and capacity building measures.
Experience in interpreting financial management reports, analyzing variations to plans and determining remedial actions required.
Knowledge of accounting, auditing and financial reporting systems and software packages.
Good knowledge of public finance concepts, principles, approaches and procedures as well as financial reporting under World Bank procedures.
Experience in working with development partners funded projects and/or programs.
Experience in training/ capacity building in financial management and auditing.

Strong planning, organization and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong analytical capabilities and skills to deal with Financial Management issues innovatively and independently
Ability to work and communicate in an international environment and in communities of diverse cultures
Ability to in a multi-disciplinary team, to provide advice and recommend actions, proficiency in preparing and presenting reports
Skills in capacity building and transferring skills to local partners at national and local levels
Excellent computer and conversant with Microsoft Office packages
Excellent report writing skills

Fluency in both spoken and written Swahili and English

12 months (over a period of 36 months) on part-time basis
