VACANCY - FINANCE MANAGER

Job Purpose:
Paones General Trading Company Limited is seeking a highly competent and experienced Finance Manager to lead and oversee all financial operations of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, cash flow management, compliance, inventory financial controls, and strategic financial decision-making to support the company's growth and operational efficiency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Financial Leadership and Strategy
Lead the Finance Team and provide strategic financial direction to the organization.
Participate in the development and execution of the company's strategic plans and business objectives.
Advise senior management on financial performance, investment opportunities, and business risks.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to support business growth.
Promote a culture of financial accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
2. Financial Management and Reporting
Oversee all accounting and financial operations of the company.
Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and accounting systems.
Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
3. Budgeting and Financial Planning
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
Monitor departmental budgets and expenditure.
Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting.
Develop financial models and projections to support strategic decision-making.
Monitor profitability and recommend strategies for cost optimization.
4. Cash Flow and Treasury Management
Manage the company's cash flow and working capital requirements.
Ensure availability of sufficient funds for operational activities.
Oversee banking relationships and financing arrangements.
Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable performance.
Improve cash collection and debtor management processes.
5. Inventory and Procurement Financial Control
Oversee inventory valuation, stock accounting, and inventory reconciliation processes.
Monitor product costs, pricing structures, and gross profit margins.
Review and monitor procurement plans, supplier contracts, and purchasing activities to ensure cost-effectiveness and value for money.
Support procurement planning through financial analysis and cost evaluations.
Ensure proper financial controls over inventory movements and stock management.
6. Compliance, Audit, and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all tax laws, statutory regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Prepare and submit statutory reports and tax returns within required deadlines.
Develop and maintain effective internal control systems.
Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
7. Finance Team Leadership and Development
Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the Finance Team.
Set departmental goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to team members.
Ensure efficient allocation of duties and effective workload management.
Build a high-performing team through training, succession planning, and continuous professional development.
Foster teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and ethical conduct within the department.
8. Business Performance and Decision Support
Analyze business performance and profitability trends.
Support management in evaluating new business opportunities and investments.
Provide financial insights for tendering, pricing, and contract negotiations.
Prepare management reports and presentations for decision-making purposes.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Professional Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant - CPA (T) - Mandatory.
Registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and financial management.
At least 3 years in a managerial or senior supervisory role.
Experience working in a trading, technology, ICT, telecommunications, systems integration, electronics supply, or related industry will be highly preferred.
Previous experience working with an ICT company will be an added advantage.
Experience in inventory management, procurement financial controls, project costing, and financial reporting is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Tanzanian tax regulations.
Advanced financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
Strong understanding of inventory and supply chain financial management.
Proficiency in accounting software, Odoo systems, and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
