Finance Specialist
Industry: NGO - Donor Funded Project
HR World Ltd, on behalf of our client, we are looking for a Finance Specialist to provide comprehensive financial support to the organization.
The role requires a high level of independence, accountability, and adherence to donor organizational financial regulations.
Responsibilities:
Lead accounting functions for the project office, ensuring timely and accurate processing and posting of transactions
Manage month-end closing processes and ensure accuracy of financial records
Prepare project financial reports including monthly synoptic journals
Conduct and review General Ledger reconciliations
Perform financial analysis and resolve discrepancies as required
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and recommend continuous improvements
Support process improvement initiatives including automation, dashboards, and reporting tools
Maintain financial systems, records, and files for the project office
Support project teams in budget reviews for annual work plans and activities
Prepare and monitor monthly cash advance and cash flow projections
Process payments for suppliers, consultants, vendors, partners, and staff reimbursements
Coordinate with headquarters finance teams on financial reports and partner invoices
Process monthly payroll, staff benefits, and statutory deductions
Record project financial transactions and allocate to correct general ledger accounts
Maintain complete supporting documentation and approvals for all transactions
Ensure compliance with finance, procurement, donor rules, and regulations
Ensure all tax and regulatory obligations are met on a monthly and annual basis
Prepare financial reports for management and donors as required
Identify and escalate emerging financial risks or issues to the Country Manager
Respond to internal and external financial enquiries
Perform other finance-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA (T) qualification is mandatory
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial and accounting processes
Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting international donor-funded projects
Proven experience in preparing donor financial reports, claims, and reconciliations
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Strong analytical and financial reporting skills
Experience working with international and multi-disciplinary teams
Strong understanding of donor compliance and NGO financial regulations
Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
