FINANCIAL CONTROLLER-ARUSHA OPPORTUNITY
Our client, a leading legal services firm in Tanzania is looking to hire a financial controller.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
To review the current financial position and provide a critical report on how best to advance their position. This shall be done semi-annually.
To review the internal accounting processes and procedures and ensure the same is in line with the approved
standards.
To provide guidance on financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
To keep record of the Employer's and its affiliate companies' assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing
internal controls.
To conduct quarterly regular and irregular audits on reconciliations, payment process, statutory payments,
payroll compliance, debtors and provide reportsto the Employer.
To advice the Employer and its affiliate companies on maximization of returns and limitation of risks on cash by
maximizing bank balances and makinginvestments.
To prepare quarterly, semi-annual and annual budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data.
To provide quarterly status reports of the financial position (cash reports, sales and collection reports, debtors list etc.) by collecting, interpreting and reportingfinancial data as well as tax exposure if any.
To oversee payments made and invoicing processes.
To oversee the full process of salary payments to the employees.
To oversee and manage the finance team by assigning roles, obligations andresponsibility on the daily assignments.
To review the current finance personnel structure and propose changes (if any)with the aim of bringing efficiency.
To train and coach the finance team to increase efficiency as well asundertaking semi-annual and annual appraisals.
To comply with national, state and local legal requirements by studying existingand new legislation, anticipating
future legislation, enforcing adherence torequirements, filing financial reports and advising management on need actions,
To maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies,
To keep all financial information and plans confidential,
To oversee all tax and regulatory compliance issues,
To prepare and submit information to relevant authorities as required by the laws,
To oversee and manage the Employer's and its affiliate companies' insurance
WORK STATION & COMMENCEMENT DATE
The work place shall be at our Arusha HQ office,
Start Date 1st March 2023.
EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATION
Candidate must have 3-5 years' experience as Financial Controller, managing ateam of minimum 4 people. Experience in financial reporting in a professional services firm will be an added advantage.
Candidate must have 3-5 years' experience in undertaking extensive tax audits, dealing with TRA and resolving
tax matters; and
Candidate must have ACCA or CPA / Equivalent Accreditation and a University degree.
