Graduate Quantity Surveyor
Duties and Responsibilities
Quantity surveyor is tasked with making good estimates of BOQ’s that will result into the company’s profitability and hence a company’s going concern
Controlling and measurement of projects costs
Preparation of interim claims, and final claim for payment
Preparation of BOQ for COmpany clients
Preparation of contractor progress report etc
Key Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required for the job
Holder of Bachelor Degree in Building Economics or equivalent from recognized institution
Must be registered by AQE Board
Must have an experience of not less than 5 years in the similar works
Must have design and engineering knowledge
Excellent negotiation skills as you must be able to convince clients that your tendered prices are reasonable.
Teamwork skills as you must be able to lead and motivate staff.
Detailed knowledge of existing technology in the field, legal issues and complex regulations
The capacity to create detailed reports that are easily understood by clients
Hands on experience in reading technical data, sending enquiries, getting quotations, analysis of take off quantities, making comparative statements, pricing tenders, familiarity with scheduling etc.
Must be between 30-40 years of age
