Head of Human Resource
Reporting the Managing Director - Tanzania and with a matrix reporting line to the group chief human capital officer, the head of human resources will support the business to achieve its goals and objectives by using effective, contemporary human resources practices to achieve strategic objectives. The role holder is responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs that support the organization's overall strategic direction, overseas various areas of human resource functions such as resourcing, compensation and benefits, learning and development while remaining informed of local labour laws and regulations, ensuring that the policies and programs conform to law and are competitive
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to the formulation of the organization strategy and ensure that all HR policies and procedures are sound and drive the performance of the company
Direct and execute the company's performance management system, pay and benefits system, human resource databases, local staff recruitment, training and development, and affirmative action programs, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations
Responsible for all talent acquisition activities through regional and non-traditional channels. Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt, non-exempt and temporary workers; right end place advertisement; work with supervisors to screen and interview candidates, conduct reference checking, extend job offers, conduct new employee orientation; conduct exit interviews
Implement effective safety, affirmative action, and other employee relation programs
Driver culture of safety, inclusiveness, productivity and engagement through an array of employee relation programs
Successfully execute the design, planning, and implementation of company employee policies and programs, including employee training and orientation to support short and long-term employee engagement and business needs
Demonstrate sound business judgment, communication skills and talent development of capabilities
Support and encourage opportunities to improve talent management as well as build a solid talent pipeline to provide effective succession and support workforce planning to ensure the business has the right people, in the right place, at the right time.
Design, develop and deliver employee training and orientation programs
Manage their compensation and benefits programs, to ensure the organization philosophy of fair and equitable employment
Counsel and support teams in carrying out human resources policies and practices for client groups including recruiting, staffing, performance measurement and management, communication, employer of choice programs, talent development, retention planning, organizational design and action planning
Responsible for resource allocation, gooding budget, and personnel
Candidate’s Qualification, Knowledge, and experience
University degree or its equivalent
A minimum of 10 years experience and operational in hr functions with four or more years in a managerial function
Must possess a higher diploma in human resources
Proven ability to analyze complex business issues and identify, design and implement effective practical recommendations
Experienced in project management and running multiple projects
IT literate
In Depth knowledge of HR/Personnel practices and principles, and labor, C&B, health and safety laws and regulations
Able to operate in a performance-driven organization
Culturally aware and adapt at working across multiple geographies
Essential Knowledge
Excellent understanding of local hr policies and procedures
Excellent knowledge of local labour laws and regulations
Expert knowledge; exhibits and an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness
Leeds the development of highly advanced technologies, principles, theories and concepts
Guides and transfers knowledge to his/her team.
