About the Role
Ramada Resort Dar es Salaam is seeking a commercially focused Head of Marketing to lead and execute marketing strategies across its hotel cluster. The successful candidate will strengthen brand positioning, accelerate customer acquisition, increase direct bookings, and deliver measurable revenue growth. The role requires strong creative and visual judgment, including the ability to brief, manage, and challenge professional creative agencies effectively.

Job Purpose
To lead and execute commercially driven marketing strategies across the hotel cluster that strengthen brand positioning, accelerate customer acquisition, increase direct bookings, and deliver measurable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Commercial Performance

Develop and execute the annual cluster marketing strategy and communications plan, aligned with the commercial objectives of all hotels within the cluster.
Work closely with the Cluster Sales Manager, Revenue Manager, and hotel operational teams to ensure marketing activities support commercial objectives while maintaining Sales and Marketing as separate functions.
Develop integrated marketing campaigns designed to drive:

Occupancy
Average Daily Rate (ADR)
Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR)
Direct bookings
Food and beverage revenue
Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE)
Weddings and events
Leisure and corporate demand


Ensure marketing campaigns are linked to measurable commercial outcomes and provide clear analysis of revenue contribution and return on investment.
Maintain a strong understanding of hospitality commercial performance, including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, direct bookings, F&B revenue, MICE, weddings, and events, and use this knowledge to guide marketing decisions.


Digital Marketing and Customer Acquisition

Manage and optimize all digital marketing channels, including:

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
Paid social media
Google Ads
Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager
Email marketing
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Hotel websites
Content Management System (CMS) platforms
Google Analytics
Online listings


Develop and manage digital acquisition strategies to increase website traffic, direct bookings, database growth, and customer engagement.
Monitor website performance, conversion rates, campaign attribution, customer acquisition costs, and other relevant digital marketing key performance indicators.


Creative Content and Brand Management

Develop creative concepts and content for:

Websites
Social media
Email campaigns
Advertisements
Brochures
Menus
Promotional materials
Other marketing communications


Develop clear, commercially focused creative briefs.
Brief, manage, and challenge professional creative agencies, photographers, videographers, designers, and other suppliers to ensure their deliverables meet the required brand, quality, and commercial objectives.
Oversee professional photography and videography.
Critically assess the creative quality, visual standards, and brand alignment of all marketing materials.
Maintain and strengthen consistent brand positioning across all properties and communication channels.
Ensure compliance with corporate brand standards.
Support the launch and positioning of new hotel products, services, restaurants, facilities, packages, and experiences.


Online Reputation and Customer Engagement

Manage the hotels’ online reputation, including:

Guest reviews
Ratings
Responses
Customer engagement




Sales, Revenue, and Commercial Collaboration

Work with the Revenue Manager to develop and promote offers, packages, and campaigns that support demand generation and revenue optimization.
Work closely with the Cluster Sales Manager to support:

Lead generation
Corporate campaigns
MICE
Weddings and events
Travel trade
Other commercial initiatives


Support these activities without directly supervising the Sales function.


Partnerships, Public Relations, and Events

Identify and develop strategic marketing partnerships with:

Airlines
Tourism boards
Travel agencies
Tour operators
Corporate organizations
Event planners
Media organizations
Influencers
Lifestyle partners


Manage influencer marketing, public relations, media partnerships, familiarization trips, exhibitions, roadshows, trade fairs, launches, sponsorships, and other brand-building activities.


Agency and Supplier Management

Manage relationships with external marketing and creative agencies.
Oversee agency and supplier activities relating to:

Creative briefing
Project management
Quality control
Timelines




Budget Management and Reporting

Develop and manage the annual marketing budget.
Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and measurable business results.
Evaluate marketing expenditure based on:

Return on investment
Revenue contribution
Lead generation
Brand impact
Campaign performance


Recommend budget or campaign adjustments where required.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing performance reports covering:

Campaign performance
Digital marketing KPIs
Revenue contribution
Return on investment
Budget performance




Market Analysis and Internal Communications

Monitor competitor activity, market trends, customer behavior, digital performance, and emerging opportunities.
Provide actionable recommendations to the Cluster General Manager.
Coordinate internal marketing communications.
Support employer-branding and employee-engagement initiatives.


Compliance and Other Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with copyright, advertising, data protection, corporate brand, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Cluster General Manager.


Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Minimum of five years’ progressive marketing experience, preferably within hotels, hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, or lifestyle sectors.
Multi-property hotel marketing experience is strongly preferred.
Proven experience developing and executing commercially driven marketing strategies that generate measurable revenue and business results.
Strong practical knowledge of:

CRM systems
Email marketing
Google Analytics
Website and CMS management


Strong understanding of digital marketing analytics, campaign attribution, conversion tracking, and marketing return on investment.
Good understanding of hotel commercial performance, including:

ADR
RevPAR
Direct bookings
Food and beverage
MICE
Weddings and events


Proven experience in agency management, creative briefing, project management, budget management, and supplier negotiation.
Strong creative and visual judgment, with the ability to assess photography, videography, design, content, and overall creative quality.
Excellent brand-management and marketing communications skills.
