INTEGRATED RURAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (IRDO) is a Rural based organization situated in Ileje District in Songwe region Southern highlands of Tanzania and is registered NGO under Tanzania NGO act of 2002 and works to cover Tanzania mainland. The organization is expecting to sign a contract with HJF Medical Research International (HJFMRI/MHRP) to implement comprehensive community-based HIV/AIDS services in Momba District and Tunduma Town council for financial year 2018/2019.
The organization is an exciting and rewarding place to work, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Focal person for HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC), Focal person for Prevention activities committed to its mission and values. They will be joining a highly motivated staff with a good team spirit and there will be opportunities to grow in the role.
Summary of the Position
Reports to: Program CoordinatorLocation: Working for Momba DC (operating from Kamsamba Village)
The Prevention Focal Person will work closely with Local Government officials, Partner(s) Community and other stakeholders in implementing prevention interventions in Momba District. The incumbent will facilitate the implementation of Prevention activities in the program area.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide technical support to Peer educators
Assist peer educators in developing a monthly work plan and share work plans with him/her
Agree, allow and support peer educators to carry out work as per the monthly work plan
Ensure attendance of peer educators in monthly meetings and training
Prepare HIV prevention monthly reports for project management to submit to the relevant bodies, in accordance with approved reporting formats and timing.
Should collect, analyze and compile HTC data and prepare monthly and quarterly HTC report.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (preferably Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, Psychology or Community Development).
Should have at least 2 years of field experience in prevention interventions highly preferred.
Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
