Infrastructure Lead
The Infrastructure Lead will work with the ICT team to build, maintain and operate our infrastructure with high availability, and stellar performance level. The infrastructure Lead will work closely with all areas of ICT to drive strategy and agile execution of operations of the bank's technology infrastructure while ensuring operational availability, performance, scalability, recoverability and continuous improvement of these infrastructures in a cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities
Managing day to day monitoring operations, including server hardware, networks, software, and operating systems pertaining to Data Centre & DR infrastructure, Core banking services, Core network, branch connectivity, ATM/POS, Self-service channels, power & cooling utilities at Head Office and branches.
Participate in the formulation of the banks enterprise architecture landscape, operating model and business system plans, assessing cost and feasibility in-line with bank's strategy
Responsible for automation and consolidation of all manual health checks reports.
Responsible for Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly performance statistics for the network and data centre infrastructure, status reports, and graphical aids for management.
Responsible for managing all incidents and problems logged regarding network, self-service, power, and cooling utilities from branches & Head Office ensuring SLA(s) and customer expectations are met.
Development and overseeing SMART metrics for the infrastructures to ensure effective capacity and performance is in place to meet or exceed business needs.
Perform and coordinate root cause analysis of incidents and share RCA/incident reports.
Managing virtualization technologies such as VMware, Oracle virtual servers and cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP and Azure services
Assist managing annual ICT department budget and ensuring cost effectiveness.
Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance
Plan, design and proactively manage, monitor and optimise primary and secondary data centres to ensure High Availability (HA) and resilience across all Bank systems and services.
Manage Unified Storage, backups and data integrity across all company systems and services.
Provide security techniques and expertise to ensure the infrastructure and software services meet specific security standards.
Designing high-level schematics of the infrastructure, tools, and processes needed
Performing an in-depth analysis of the possible risks and countermeasures for them
Calculating the potential cost of outages and planning for contingency
Preparing input for infrastructure/tooling/workflow updates across the organization.
Work with the network team to monitor infrastructure security, identifying and reporting Real Time attacks and vulnerabilities on the company network.
Ensure that incidents are correctly reported and documented in accordance with policies and procedures.
Act as a Technical Escalation Point during security incidents, establishing the extent of an attack, the business impacts, and advising on how best to contain the incident along with advice on systems hardening and mitigation measures to prevent a recurrence.
Maintain a keen understanding of evolving threats and vulnerabilities to ensure the security of the IMT network.
Assuring all Tech activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
Provide 24/7 support when required.
Provide guidance and mentorship to the team members
Keeping abreast of developments and best practices in database engineering.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study.
Relevant cloud computing certifications preferred AWS/Azure/vMware.
Extensive experience with database technologies and architecture.
At Least 8 years of experience on Technology Infrastructure Operations and Management
Experience with infrastructure management like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible etc.
Expert experience of SIEM, Firewalls
Experience with Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse Analytics, Redshift)
Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Kafka, HDFS, HIVE, HBase, ...)
Expert experience in enterprise system integrations and architecture
Expert experience in server administration (Linux, Windows Servers, Oracle)
Good understanding of DevOps concepts and best practices and orchestration platform (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, Gke...)
Experience with NoSQL DBs' (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j)
Experience with comprehensive disaster recovery architecture and operations, including storage, networks, highly-available server and network architectures.
Good Knowledge in the following Microsoft software products: (LDAP, Active Directory, IIS, DFS, TCP/IP, NFS, SAN and Direct Attached Storage, High Performance Networking).
In-depth understanding of VMware technologies, including vSphere/ESX, VMware View, vCenter, Site Recovery Manager, running in enterprise environments.
Skillsets
Strong understanding of Hyper-Converged High availability infrastructure
Strong experience in Database management systems, programming and scripting abilities across a range of languages e.g. Ruby, Java, Go, Python, NodeJS etc
Conversant with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios XI, DataDog, Grafana
Good understanding of networking, TCP/IP, HTTP protocol, SOAP and REST
Understanding of load balancers, application gateways, DNS, virtual networks and firewalls in cloud environment
Experience with microservices apps deployment and maintenance.
Sound knowledge of best practices in database engineering and data security.
Strong understanding of version control (git), branching & merging strategies, and build setup
Continuous integration/continuous delivery tools - Jenkins/Jenkins Pipelines, Gitlab, CircleCI, Sauce Labs, and Nexus
Understanding of load balancers, application gateways, DNS, virtual networks and firewalls in cloud environment
