LAB TECHNICIANPOSITIONS: 4INDUSTRY: CONSTRUCTIONLOCATIONS: TANGA AND MOROGOROOn behalf of our reputable client, HR WORLD LTD is looking for a Lab Technician , who will be responsible for inspecting and testing variety of construction materials on construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES;
Collects field and quarry samples of construction materials and soils such as fresh and cured concrete, asphalt, sand, aggregate, pavement, structural steel, reinforcing bar; determines the location in which samples will be taken.
Performs a variety of routine and complex tests and inspections such as: soil classification, sieve analysis, gradation, PH, moisture, nuclear density, sand equivalent, oven moisture and slump cone, both in the laboratory and in the field.
Determines if test results are in compliance with applicable construction plans, specifications, standards and contracts.
Uses specialized instruments and equipment such as nuclear and electronic instruments; calibrates and adjusts instruments to compensate for changing conditions; performs routine cleaning, maintenance and servicing of assigned equipment.
Inspects facilities where materials are used and stored to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and ordinances.
Prepares a variety of technical and other written reports on laboratory test results; files and maintains laboratory records.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS;
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or any other related field.
At least 7 years of working experience.
Experienced working on Construction projects.
Ability to accurately test samples
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to work with people of various backgrounds
Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
