HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Materials Manager to oversee the planning, procurement coordination, control, and availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and other operational inputs to ensure smooth and uninterrupted FMCG production operations while maintaining optimal inventory levels and cost efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement effective materials planning, forecasting, and inventory control systems.
Plan and monitor material requirements based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and operational needs.
Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and other production inputs in the required quantity and quality.
Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, consumption patterns, reorder points, and lead times to prevent stock-outs and overstocking.
Coordinate closely with procurement, production, warehouse, quality assurance, finance, and suppliers to ensure continuous material supply.
Follow up with suppliers on deliveries, delays, shortages, and quality-related issues to ensure compliance with agreed standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all material transactions including receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and stock balances.
Conduct regular stock counts and ensure reconciliation between physical stock and system records.
Identify and manage slow-moving, obsolete, expired, damaged, and excess materials and recommend appropriate disposal or corrective actions.
Ensure proper storage, handling, preservation, and identification of materials in line with FMCG and food safety standards.
Analyse material consumption trends and provide accurate data to support demand forecasting and procurement planning.
Prepare and present regular reports on inventory status, material availability, stock performance, and consumption analysis.
Monitor material usage and wastage and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce losses.
Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Materials Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in materials management, inventory control, supply chain, procurement, or warehouse operations within FMCG or manufacturing industries
Strong understanding of FMCG supply chain processes, production planning, and inventory management systems
Experience in managing raw materials, packaging materials, and production-related inventories
Good knowledge of FIFO/FEFO, batch tracking, stock rotation, and inventory control principles
Experience working with ERP or inventory/warehouse management systems
