About this job

The ideal candidate will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment, troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, and inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.

Responsibilities

Maintaining and installing all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Locating problems through close observation of machinery and staff practices.
Performing careful inventory, stock checks and placing orders for required material and equipment.
Collecting and analyzing data for written reports.
Attending daily meetings and scheduling training workshops where required.
Sourcing replacement parts and liaising with vendors.
Controlling downtime by communicating with staff and implementing contingency measures.
Ensuring all procedures and processes adhere to health and safety regulations.
Dismantling machinery and removing/replacing defective parts.
Installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
Determining changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
Maintaining inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
Training production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
Providing mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Preparing maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

 
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Ability to read and understand designs and schematics
Over 5 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer in the manufacturing industry.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
Great mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Critical and logical thinking ability.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Medically fit.
Ability to remain calm and act responsibly during emergencies.
Willingness to work overtime if necessary.
