Duties and Responsibilities Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Communication Specialist in the Resident Coordinators Office, Partnership development and communication Analyst will assist to ensure the implementation of communication strategies to enhance the visibility of joint UN initiatives at normative and operational level, enhances the interface with senior government officials at central and local levels. The Partnership Devt & communication Analyst will be located at RCO – Communication Specialist Office. Summary of Key Functions:Support the implementation of DaO Communications, Outreach, Advocacy and Partnerships (COAP) activities.Assist in implementing activities on COAP in the RCO , facilitation of UN Communications Group (UNCG), and backstopping of the RC engagement with national stakeholders at national and local level on the SDGs and UNDAP II.Support with the facilitation of Innovations on Communications as One initiatives and knowledge building and sharing for UN Tanzania and its partners.Support resource mobilization from new partners in Tanzania to support UN communications, outreach, advocacy and partnerships.Support the implementation of DaO Communications, Outreach, Advocacy and Partnerships (COAP) activities.Support the facilitation of overall Tanzanian One UN COAP strategy for 2016-21, with special focus on the media.Assist to ensure the institutionalization of inter-agency collaboration in the COAP to support the operationalization of initiatives under One UN led by RCO.Work with the Communications Specialist to build alliance for enhanced UN role with both traditional and non-traditional partners and audiences.Support the flow of information between the UN Global systems, the RC, the UNCT and Un staff in Tanzania, ensuring that all relevant parties are kept informed of activities, initiatives and requests and facilitating any necessary follow up action.Support the implementation of internal communication initiatives fostering a joint UN identity.Assist in implementing activities on COAP in the RCO, facilitation of UNCG, and backstopping of the RC engagement with national stakeholders at national and local level on the SDGs and UNDAP II.Assist the Communication Specialist with development and backstopping of the advocacy for the roll-out of the SDGs in line with the national priorities of the United Republic of Tanzania.Assist to develop and track the advocacy campaign for the roll out of UNDAPI I campaign.Support the Communications Specialist to facilitate RC’s direct outreach and advocacy with senior central and local govt officials in support of prioritized UNCT normative goals.Support the sub-nationalization of One UN COAP initiates.Support the management and update of content of the One UN website and Social Media.Ensure documentation and dissemination of the UN programme experience and results achieved for UN visibility of the UN programme and success.Support with the facilitation of Innovations on Communications as One initiatives and knowledge building and sharing for UN Tanzania and its partners.Assist the Communication Specialist to Strengthen partnership with key traditional donor stakeholders in support of DaO and promote continued support for One UN.Support with managing and updating of content of the One UN website, emerging social media platforms, and photo database to ensure materials are consistent and relevant to UN priorities. Support the promotion of the use of new information technologies and social media to pursue effective advocacy in both internal and external communications.Provide support to the effort of promoting the concept of UN spokespersons on different priority SDG and UNDAP themes.Contribute to the provision of content for advocacy and information materials, including the UNCT newsletter & website, press releases, statements, and talking points.Support development of concepts for non-traditional partner engagement activities in alignment with UNDAP II (Journalists, private sector, press clubs) Support resource mobilization from new partners in Tanzania to support UN Communications, outreach, advocacy and partnerships.Support the enhancement of the relationship with private sector to win on initiatives related to corporate social responsibility.Assist communications Specialist to raise resources for UN and RCO COAP initiatives in light of new interest by donor community on this work.Assist on further building of the RC’s resource mobilization efforts with donors for joint advocacy on shared or joint priority normative agenda topics. Required Skills and Experience Education:Degree in Social science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Sciences, communication or a related field;Master degree is an added advantage.Experience:Minimum 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in Communications, Outreach, Advocacy and Partnerships activities;Additional years of experience an added advantage;Knowledge about UN coordination, the RC system, UN Joint Programmes and UN Delivering as One is a clear advantage;Experience on Communications and Advocacy on normative development issues in Tanzania;Proven experience on promoting an organization’s priorities, products or services through innovative communication strategies;Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems and experience on creating social media campaigns;Prior experience within the UN system will be an added advantage.Language Requirements:Fluency in English and Swahili languages;Excellent ability in written English.
