Job Purpose
Support in purchasing goods and services following company's policies, procedures, and regulations.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively facilitate supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives which support ongoing local Procurement strategy
Build an efficient buying network, dynamically aligned with respective category management
Ability to design tender strategy and prepare local bid documents, manage RFQ and tender process & analyse bid results
Review spend and vendor performance of local contracts ensuring appropriate contracts are in place
Extensive experience in collating and developing statistical demand forecast including metrics around usage and performance of production using excel and other tools
Work with line management to gather performance data and use to manage quality of service with established vendors
Contribute to cost reduction initiatives by leveraging Group spend for the Countries Implement and oversee effective and efficient service delivery and resolution of issues affecting delivery or supply constraints
Implement and monitor continuous improvement practises in Procurement and Supply Chain
Support implementation of ‘fit for purpose’ technology to enable effective Procurement systems
Manage and validate vendor master and obtain up-to-date management information by vendor to analyse spend and identify trends and potential savings opportunities
Analyse local supplier markets and internal demand for identified local supply and contracts
Work with Procurement & Inventory Manager to prioritise and plan Mill and Supplier visits to understand and align on future category strategies to facilitate increased compliance
Resolve issues with suppliers in conjunction with end-user
Ability to design and negotiate local contracts and approve prices, delivery and payment terms, quality requirements to meet standards and supply objectives Interface with business and other stakeholders to actively manage demand forecasting, production planning & ensure compliance to contracts and price agreements
Ensure required procurement processes are followed when initiating the required commercial processes
Track application of contracts by reviewing surcharge indices, coordinating planning and performing monthly reconciliation
Source one-offs purchases requested by end-users
Manage supplier accounts with a focus on total cost of ownership
Ensure buying process is procedurally compliant and documentation for audit and SHERQ purposes are available
JOB QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Relevant degree (B Com, BA-PSM, Engineering, BSc)
5+ years Procurement / Purchasing / Supply Chain management experience Registered by PSPTB/IFPSM.
MBA added advantage
Demonstrated understanding of stores management and Inventory management systems and processes
Work experience in the manufacturing or extractive industry will be an added advantage
Knowledge of eTendering
