Job Purpose
The role holder will be responsible with working closely with children, women and youths and their families to make beneficial changes for the children, youths and women's mental health. To assess, diagnose, and treat children, women and youths who may have slight or severe mental, emotional, or social disorders.
Job Qualifications / Experience
University qualification in Psychology/ Counseling or a related field
Master's Degree in a relevant fields an added advantage
Minimum of three years professional experience working with children, women and youths
Experience working with NGOs/ government in Zanzibar is added advantage
Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate with children, youths and women of different ages and from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Commitment to confidentiality, respect and a non-discriminatory attitude
Strong technical knowledge in protection and psycho-social support.
Assess children, youths and women for psychological or behavioral disorders
Experience in administering psychotherapy and psychometric tests in conducting diagnosis
To provide suitable treatment plans that address various psychological challenges
Engage child patients in counseling/therapy sessions
Design and implement behavior modification programs as part of a psychological treatment plan
Develop preventative programs that mitigate risk of substance abuse and underage pregnancy
To address problems such as bullying, depression, learning difficulties, and various other social/mental health condition in children, women and youths by providing appropriate psychological intervention
To carry out research and surveys to develop a more effective treatment strategy
