Job descriptionRole purpose:Responsible for managing communications and working as the author for various audiences that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products and services.To entrench this leadership and to bring our brand closer to our customers Vodacom is focused on connecting its brand values with the values and aspirations of its customers, business partners, employees on how we provide reliable network, our products and services and how we involve ourselves in the community.The PR Manager has responsibility for external communications activities that enhance awareness of the company and strengthen its position in the market, build upon established brand and cultivate company culture to connect with Tanzanians through regular communicationKey accountabilities and decision ownershipPrepare information for media kits, distribution of press releases to media house and ensure releases appear in advertising media as per plan.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with media housesWork closely with the PR agency to ensure that they delivery is in line with VTL strategy to meet company’s goalsPlan, develop and direct public relations programs that build and sustain favorable public image for VTL.Ensure there is PR plan for every campaign launchesQualifications & CompetenciesDegree in Mass Communication, Public Relations & Advertising or its equivalent.3+ years’ experience industry or functional experienceStrong communication skillsPassion for the role: Exhibit enthusiasm and a can-do attitude about work and deliverablesAbility to enable/execute deep media connection through high-touch/visibility dynamic research methods (ethnography, documentary, diaries, roundtables, one-on-ones)Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to brief, create and share dynamic information that bring life to key learningDemonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on.A good command of the Kiswahili and English language
